Nottingham Forest enjoyed a narrow 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the City Ground on a day where relegation rivals picked up big points.

The Reds took the lead in the 25th minute through Alex Mighten. His effort took a deflection and looped into the Rovers net.

Adam Armstrong hit the post on the stroke of half-time but Forest managed to stand firm.

Blackburn were handed a massive chance to equalise with 17 minutes remaining when Keith Stroud awarded them a penalty.

Brice Samba proved the hero though, diving to his right to keep out Armstrong’s effort.

Following a massive three points, we looked at the performance and marked the players out of 10.

Brice Samba – 9

Saved a penalty, won a clean sheet and the Congolese star is edging back to his very best.

Cyrus Christie – 7.5

Started slowly, but grew into the game and the statistics suggest he was nowhere near as bad as some on Twitter suggested.

Tobias Figueiredo – 8

Superb again at the back and showcased exactly why he has won Chris Hughton’s faith back.

Joe Worrall – 7.5

His defending was excellent but his usually good passing radar was badly off.

Yuri Ribeiro – 7

Had a decent game up against Blackburn’s attacking options and looks to be first-choice once again.

Cafu – 7

Forest lost some of their spark in midfield when he went off which tells a story in itself.

James Garner – 7.5

Could have scored when he glancing header hit the bar and was once again impressive throughout.

Anthony Knockaert – 7.5

Was at fault for Blackburn winning the penalty but his delivery was once again fantastic. His free kick caused the chaos which led to the goal.

Filip Krovinovic – 7

A strong performance from the Croatian who goes about his business with relative ease.

Alex Mighten – 7.5

Wasn’t strong enough in the opening 20 minutes and needed to hold the ball up better. Grew into the contest and deserved his goal.

Glenn Murray – 7

Could have added to his tally with a shot which fizzed just wide. Looks to be a good signing for the Reds.

Lyle Taylor (Murray, 59) – 6

Ryan Yates (Cafu, 69) – 6

Luke Freeman – (Mighten, 69) – 6
