The Daily Mail has claimed that Morgan Gibbs-White and Joe Rodon are two primary targets for Nottingham Forest this summer.

The Reds are back in the big time after 23 years of hurt and must now add to their squad ahead of the Premier League campaign.

Steve Cooper will be under no illusions of the size of the task ahead and wants two of his former players to sign for Forest.

Rodon is a player that Cooper knows very well. He made 54 appearances for Swansea before signing for Tottenham in 2020.

He earned praise from the Reds boss during his time at the club. Back in February 2020, he labelled him ‘fantastic’ following another sparkling performance.

Gibbs-White is another player that Cooper has worked with before. He was part of the England under-17s squad that won the World Cup in 2017 and he was also signed by Cooper for Swansea.

His time at the Liberty Stadium proved frustrating. He broke his foot during his season-loan loan spell and was restricted to just six outings.

Clearly, Cooper fancies both of his former players to do a job though. The report claims that the duo are key targets ahead of the big Premier League kick-off.

Forest want Rodon and Gibbs-White and they’d both be awesome

These are exactly the sort of signings that Forest should be making this summer. Both players are at a nice age, with the duo boasting bags of potential.

Rodon lost his way a bit last season. He barely played for Tottenham after falling way down the pecking order under Antonio Conte.

With the World Cup on the horizon, he will be keen to prove a point. He will also want to make sure he goes into the tournament in the best possible form.

Gibbs-White has a lot more Premier League experience than people give him credit for. He’s played 46 times in the top flight and Wolves had offered him a new deal.

Last season he was the star of the show for Sheffield United. He scored 12 goals and claimed 10 assists as the Blades reached the play-offs before losing to Forest.

Both players would be magnificent and if the club can get deals over the line, it would give Forest two cracking additions to their squad.
