Nottingham Forest are facing competition from Nice for Manchester City starlet Issa Kabore and have discovered his valuation.
According to journalist Santi Aouna, the Premier League champions value their young talent at £15 million.
That will come as a blow to the Reds who were hoping to snap up the 21-year-old and were likely hoping to pay a lot less.
Kabore was on loan in Ligue 1 last season with Troyes, enjoying a sound campaign away from the Etihad Stadium.
He made 32 appearances for the French outfit, registering two assists from his position as the right-sided wing-back.
It was also a sound campaign for Kabore on the international stage.
He was named the AFCON Young Player of the Tournament as Burkina Faso defied the odds and reached the semi-finals of the competition.
Forest are desperate to bolster their wing-back ranks ahead of next season.
Djed Spence is set to sign for Tottenham and won’t be back, whilst the club will seemingly let Richie Laryea out on loan.
Two wing-backs will likely be targeted for the right-hand side, although new recruit Giulian Biancone can operate there.
Kabore would be a natural fit to replace Spence, however, and he looks like a talented performer.
Forest face Kabore competition but £15 million seems steep
The talented player has just two seasons of first-team football to his name.
As a result, it’s quite baffling that City are keen to recoup a staggering £15 million for his services.
For context, Spence scored more goals and claimed more assists last season and is likely to only cost Tottenham £20 million.
Kabore does look like a future star, however, and it could be a sound investment.
Forest perhaps need a player for the here and now though and as a result, Nice could win this particular race.
