Nottingham Forest have signed Harry Toffolo from Huddersfield Town. Shortly after checking in, he’s taken to Twitter to welcome himself to the Reds supporters.
Steve Cooper has moved to sign the left-sided wing-back who played against Forest in the Championship play-off final.
Toffolo signed for Huddersfield in 2020. Last season he came of age, scoring six goals and claiming eight assists as the Terriers defied the odds.
Forest have now taken the 26-year-old ahead of their Premier League campaign. He joins Omar Richards in the ranks and will battle it out with him for a place in the team.
Cooper has stated that he wanted to sign more players. The Reds squad has looked a little short of depth during pre-season and Toffolo will definitely add to the group.
Toffolo made 98 appearances for Huddersfield during his time at the club. He was a firm fan favourite and he had been offered a new contract with the West Yorkshire-based outfit at Christmas.
The player opted not to sign that, however. Now, he’s been granted his wish to join the Reds as they prepare for a campaign of Premier League football.
Signed: Forest get Toffolo and he’s reacted on Twitter
The Reds were definitely in need of another left-sided wing-back. Forest had done well to add Richards but Cooper is desperate to make sure his squad has some depth.
Toffolo will get the chance to stake his claim for a place in the team. He’s a determined character and he’s a player that will give his all when called upon.
Shortly after checking in on Trentside, the player took to Twitter and he’s determined to make a success of things during his time with Forest.
