Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson has told TalkSPORT which Premier League fixture he’s most looking forward to this season.

The stopper arrived at the City Ground earlier this summer. He was added to the ranks once Brice Samba declared his intention to return to France.

He’s taken a swipe at the club for false promises and has suggested that he’s keen to make up for lost time during the 2022/23 campaign.

During the interview, Henderson was asked which club he’s looking forward to facing the most and he gave an answer that will perhaps surprise a few.

He told TalkSPORT: “I would have loved to have gone up against Manchester United.

“I think I’m looking forward to the Leicester-derby. Apparently, that’s a bit of a derby here so I’m looking forward to that.”

Forest will face Leicester in the league for the first time in several years but the two teams did meet last season.

The Reds battered the Foxes 4-1 in the FA Cup to leave the holders gutted in front of 5000 of their own fans at the City Ground.

Of course, things will be different and more difficult to negotiate for Forest this season but it’s still a game to look forward to nonetheless.

Forest have pulled off a coup by landing Manchester United goalkeeper Henderson.

Naturally, he will have come to Forest for regular action and it’s fair to say that he will have some games this season where he’s busy.

That’s not being detrimental to the team but this year will be tougher in the Premier League.

For Leicester, they will be relishing meeting Forest twice again. Since that fateful day in the FA Cup they will have craved retribution on the team they consider fierce rivals.

The hatred isn’t quite reciprocated by the Reds fan base but nonetheless, it does promise to be a decent occasion when the two teams meet.

Hopefully, Forest can come out on top once again.
