Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Pajtim Kasami could be set to sign for Olympiacos, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The maestro was on loan at the City Ground during the 2016/17 campaign and scored twice in 25 appearances.

He’s also played for Olympiacos before and now Evangelos Marinakis is set to snap him up again.

Given that Kasami is a free agent there is no issue with him heading to Athens and talks remain ongoing.

The 30-year-old was playing for Basle in Switzerland last season. He scored six goals and claimed six assists from 46 appearances.

That form has prompted Marinakis to try and get his former player back to the club.

Carlos Corberan is currently in charge of Olympiacos and has overseen two wins and two draws so far in the league.

Marinakis clearly feels that the squad could do with some reinforcing in the engine room and will call on Kasami.

The player never really produced the goods for Forest after signing for the club when Philippe Montanier was in charge.

He also spent time playing in the Premier League with Fulham and is a well-travelled performer.

The experienced player could prove to be a useful signing for the Greek champions and he clearly knows the division.

Kasami is an elegant left-footed performer and he will perhaps provide some leadership to a young Olympiacos squad.

The midfielder will get to play alongside a couple of players who are actually owned by Forest.

Josh Bowler and Hwang Ui-jo were both signed by Forest in the summer and immediately sent to Olympiacos on season-long loan deals.

Both players are busy trying to get up to speed and the duo started the 1-1 draw with Volos at the weekend.

Kasami could be the next player to pen terms with the Greek giants and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.
