George Syrianos left Nottingham Forest in October and now Ronaldo wants to employ him at Real Valladolid, according to Bild. Getting him won’t be easy for the Brazilian though, with Brighton and two Bundesliga clubs also keen.

The German recruitment guru was sacked by the Reds earlier this year. After being part of the process that saw Forest sign 22 new players, he carried the can for a poor start to the season along with Andy Scott.

The 33-year-old is a master of his trade though. He was responsible for some very good deals at the City Ground and it’s no surprise that other clubs are now queueing up to offer him something.

As with most recruitment staff these days, things didn’t always go according to plan for Syrianos. Mohamed Drager was clearly one of his recruits and he looks like leaving the club without playing a single game.

Several of the summer recruits will have come courtesy of the German. Taiwo Awoniyi was strongly recommended by Syrianos and he’s currently the team’s top goalscorer even if he has struggled for consistency.

Now, the young recruitment boffin will have several options to choose from. Going to work for Ronaldo could be an exciting project, however, and it must be an option that he’s seriously considering.

Syrianos let Forest and now Ronaldo wants him

Someone had to take the hit for a poor start to the season for Forest. Fans didn’t want it to be Steve Cooper and naturally, the next men in line were bound to be the ones working in recruitment.

After making 22 new signings in the summer it was always going to be difficult. It’s fair to say that Evangelos Marinakis didn’t fancy all of them as useful signings and Syrianos suffered the ultimate fate.

That doesn’t make him bad at his job. Forest clearly felt that a change was necessary though and now they will move forward in a different direction ahead of the January transfer window.

Syrianos teaming up with Ronaldo would be very interesting. He perhaps needs some help to take the club to the next level and his expertise in the transfer market could help him achieve success.
