Huddersfield Town boss Mark Fotheringham has lauded Nottingham Forest target, Etienne Camara. The midfielder has been linked with the Reds, Leicester and Brighton ahead of the transfer window.

Forest are likely to be in the market for another midfielder during the transfer window. Camara is unlikely to be one for the here and now but the Reds won’t abandon their plans for the future.

The 19-year-old has broken into the first team during 2022/23. Having sold Lewis O’Brien to Forest in the summer, a void has presented itself in the midfield engine room at the West Yorkshire-based outfit.

Camara has made 14 appearances for the Terriers this season. He played just once during the 2021/22 campaign but now appears to have the faith of Fotheringham who is trying to revive their fortunes.

He believes that Camara is set for a bright future. The boss has been offering an insight to any club that would be keen on signing him as to what they can expect from the midfield maestro.

He told Yorkshire Live: “It doesn’t surprise me he’s being linked with Premier League clubs. He’s first and foremost a real top talent and he’s got an incredible personality.

“When he goes on the pitch, he becomes a lion, he’s aggressive. I do believe he will play a lot of games for us from now until the end of the season.”

Camara lauded by Fotheringham and Forest could do a lot worse

The teenager looks like a brilliant player. He won’t come cheap though and Huddersfield are looking for around £10 million from any potential suitor.

Although that might not sound much, it’s worth remembering that Camara is a complete novice. He’s only played a handful of times in the Championship and he’d definitely be one for the future.

For context, Forest only parted with £10 million for O’Brien in the summer. He was a seasoned EFL star and was one of the second tier’s very best midfielders during the 2021/22 campaign.

If there is some cash spare, however, Camara might be worth the investment. He definitely looks wise for the future and perhaps the Huddersfield man would be worth adding sooner rather than later.
