Nottingham Forest won’t be signing left back Aaron Martin this summer as he prepares to complete a move to Genoa.
Forest are in the market for another left back this summer with Renan Lodi’s loan spell from Atletico Madrid now coming to an end.
Questions surround both Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo, whether it’s in terms of injuries or suitability for the Premier League.
We fully expect Forest to find a new left back but rumours linking Aaron Martin with a move appear to be wide of the mark.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday that Forest have been turning their attention towards free agent Martin.
Forest had been hoping to land Monza left back Carlos Augusto but Inter Milan’s decision to enter the race has made that move tricky.

Martin was suggested as an alternative target with his Mainz contract coming to an end this summer.
The Spaniard impressed going forward this past season and played alongside Taiwo Awoniyi and Moussa Niakhate at Mainz.
Taking the former Espanyol man on a free transfer may have appealed to Forest, but he is seemingly one to cross off the list.

Aaron Martin set for Genoa move
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Martin is all set to complete a move to Italian side Genoa.
It’s stated that an agreement is moving ‘closer and closer’ with a three-year deal on option, which will even have the option of a fourth year.
Genoa have just returned to Serie A having finished second in Serie B this past season.
Martin is now set to sign up for top-flight football in Italy and will play under former Italy boss Alberto Gilardino.
Martin seemed like an option for Forest if top targets – such as Augusto – were off the table.
The 26-year-old would seemingly rather not wait around and will surely play a prominent role for Genoa moving forward, leaving Forest to look elsewhere.
