Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Brazilian talent Angelo amid recent links with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have now agreed a deal worth around €15million (£13million) to sign Angelo from Santos.

Romano claims that Angelo has agreed personal terms on a deal until 2029 and he will join Chelsea imminently.

Angelo will feature in pre-season for Chelsea but there is a chance he will then be loaned out for first-team exposure.

Barcelona have 48 hours to match Chelsea’s bid thanks to a clause they have with Santos, but they allegedly don’t plan to do so.

The path is clear for Angelo to join Chelsea and that means links with a move to Nottingham Forest can come to an end.

Angelo has been linked with Nottingham Forest

Forest focused heavily on signing Brazilian players in January by landing Felipe, Danilo and Gustavo Scarpa.

Another Brazilian was targeted though as Forest wanted to sign Angelo from Santos.

UOL claim that Angelo rejected the move and instead chose to stay with Santos a little longer.

Lance over in Brazil reported just last week that Forest had cooled their interest in Angelo but would keep tabs on him moving forward.

Well, the potential of a future Forest move for Angelo has just taken a real hit with Chelsea now luring him to West London.

Angelo, 18, has – somehow, according to Transfermarkt – already played 129 games for Santos.

Five goals and 10 assists isn’t the greatest return but many believe that Angelo can become a star in the future.

Forest may now end up facing Angelo in the near future, but maybe the Reds will continue to scour Brazil for potential signings after Danilo’s positive impact.
