Forest aren’t alone in their pursuit of Frankfurt star Theate, with Bournemouth eyeing him as a replacement for Tottenham-bound Marcos Senesi.
Theate has been in fine form for Frankfurt since making a permanent move from Rennes in the January 2025 transfer window.

Theate would be ideal signing for Forest
The Reds will naturally be wanting defensive reinforcements this summer and a new versatile defender would be ideal.
Theate has the ability to operate as a centre-back or a left-back, and a new full-back is definitely going to be required for Forest this summer.
With Jair Cunha, Morato and Zach Abbott all capable of providing cover at centre-back, one or two of those players could leave should Theate be added to the ranks.
With Bournemouth offering regular football to Theate, this might not be an easy deal to do, but at £17 million, it looks like one that would prove very useful if it could be completed.
