Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Adlene Guedioura from Wolves on a three-yearcontract

Fawaz Al-Hasawi, the club’s owner, made the announcement via Twitter following an afternoon of rumours that the Algerian midfielder had been spotted at the club’s Academy.

The Reds have paid an undisclosed fee although the Nottingham Evening Post reported earlier this month Guedioura could be available for as little as £750,000.

The midfielder had a huge impact on loan last season and arrives as the first signing of the Sean O’Driscoll reign.

O’Driscoll said: “When I heard that Adlene was available for transfer I moved quickly to sign him.

“He knows the club, knows the fans, and knows what’s expected of him on the field. I look forward to utilising his expansive midfield play this season.”

Chairman Omar Al-Hasawi added: “He made a huge impact on the team last year and is just the kind of exciting player that we want to see gracing the City Ground this season.”

Guedioura made 19 appearances for Forest after arriving in January and scored in the club’s 7-3 win at Leeds.

More signings are expected this week.
