Robbie Findley and Karl Darlow both left the club on one-month loans today as Sean O’Driscoll continues refining the Nottingham Forest squad.
US international striker Findley has joined former Notts County manager Martin Allen at League Two side Gillingham having failed to make the first team this season.
Goalkeeper Darlow links up with O’Driscoll’s former Doncaster Rovers assistant Richard O’Kelly at League One Walsall as he seeks to gain first team experience following his loan spell at Newport County last season.
Saddlers’ manager Dean Smith said: “With Wacka [Jimmy Walker] being out injured, Karl is a goalkeeper that we have watched a number of times recently. He is very highly-rated at Forest, so I am delighted to be able to bring him here for a month.
“He will certainly strengthen us and add to the group.”
Darlow’s loan move leaves 19-year-old Dimitar Evtimov as the only back-up to Lee Camp which raises the question, will an experienced ‘keeper be coming in on a 93-day emergency loan?
Ishmael Miller, Matt Derbyshire and David McGoldrick have all gone out on loan to Middlesbrough, Oldham and Coventry respectively.
