Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura departed for Africa Cup of Nations duty with Algeria today following the 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The tournament in South Africa kicks off on 19 January with group games ending on 30 January and the final on 10 February.

Algeria will play their Group D games in Rustenburg and face Tunisia on the 22nd, Togo on the 26th and Ivory Coast on the 30th.

Currently 19 in the FIFA World Rankings, Algeria are second only to Ivory Coast and should expect to go through to the quarter-finals where they could meet Zambia or Nigeria.

Guedioura has been in good form for the Reds in recent games and will be a loss as Alex McLeish gets to grips with his new side. The Algerian will miss games against Oldham in the FA Cup and league games against Peterborough, Derby and Watford and could miss further games against Birmingham City and Bristol City if Algeria progress in the competition.

ITV4 will be showing 20 live matches free-to-air, including 12 group matches, four quarter-finals, both semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the final.
