Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Jamie Mackie from Queen’s Park Rangers on a three-year contract, in a deal believed to be worth close to £1m.
The Scotland international striker becomes Forest’s eighth signing of the summer and was a target for Billy Davies during his first spell in charge of the club.
The 27-year-old can play as a front man or on either flank and became surplus to requirements at QPR as Harry Redknapp targets new signings.
Mackie was usually preferred in a wide-midfield role by both Neil Warnock and Mark Hughes, scoring 18 goals in 94 appearances for the R’s.
Having begun his career at Leatherhead, Mackie moved on to Wimbledon, Exeter City and Plymouth before joining QPR in 2010.
