Nottingham Forest central defender Joe Worrall was loaned out during the summer, with Rangers handing the youngster a chance to play regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old is highly-rated on the banks of the River Trent and there is hope that he can return to the City Ground ready to challenge for a first-team place next season.
Indeed, it would appear that the player himself is desperately keen on getting another chance with his boyhood club, especially given some comments made over the weekend in an interview with the Scottish Sun.
Following Rangers’ 2-0 win over St Mirren at the weekend, Worrall stamped his colours firmly to the Forest mast, saying: “Nottingham Forest is my team. They employ me and they pay my wages. For me, it is a loan.”
The Hucknall-born central defender has earned rave reviews north of the border with a string of fine performances. This recent interview is sure to delight those of a Forest persuasion, with many tipping Worrall to become a future captain at the City Ground.

Aitor Karanka Surprises
Having already played over 50 times for the Reds it was something of a surprise when boss Aitor Karanka deemed him surplus to requirements prior to the campaign commencing. Of course, at this stage, Worrall himself doesn’t have a great deal of control over what sort of part he might play for Forest in the future.
It seems pretty obvious that the no-nonsense defender is benefiting from playing football on such a big stage, however, with the player now established as a regular in Steven Gerrard’s team.
Worrall continued: “I’m really enjoying it here and I thank the gaffer for playing me.”
“I’m here until the end of the season so hopefully you’ll see a lot more from me and what I can do.”
Forest fans are right to be proud of their academy which is held in high-esteem and the fact that Worrall is firing on all cylinders in both the SPL and the Europa League speaks volumes.
The Reds supporters will naturally be hoping that he can return to Trentside a much better player and be ready to stake his claim for a place in next season’s squad.
