Nottingham Forest maintained their unbeaten run at the City Ground yesterday afternoon, drawing 0-0 with Stoke City.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Reds who were thwarted on two occasions by England goalkeeper Jack Butland, who produced two quality saves to keep Forest at bay.
It was another point in the quest for promotion for AItor Karanka’s men, making it 11 on the board from a tough run of fixtures in October and early November.
Seat Pitch’s Lee Clarke was at the City Ground and was on hand to rate the players following the contest.
Costel Pantilimon 7
Slowly but surely the big Romanian looks to be regaining his confidence. Against Stoke City, he was perhaps a little lucky to remain on the pitch following an incident with Benik Afobe. Otherwise, it was an assured performance from the custodian.
Tendayi Darikwa 9 SEAT PITCH STAR MAN
For the second game running the Nottingham Forest right-back claims our Man of the Match accolade. Darikwa kept Mame Diouf isolated throughout the contest and once again demonstrated his attacking qualities when the Reds had possession.
Michael Dawson 8
The 34-year-old had to wait patiently for his chance during his second coming at the City Ground but he has taken it with aplomb. Dawson highlighted how crucial he is to the Reds with a string of fine clearances and blocks.
Tobias Figueiredo 8
The Portuguese youngster is forming a formidable partnership with Dawson and that was evident here. The 24-year-old looks assured and calculated alongside the Forest captain and he too is getting better with each game.
Jack Robinson 8
Fast becoming one of Forest best, and most important, players. The ex-QPR man had his hands full with James McClean but dealt with the threat impeccably well.
Jack Colback 8
On this performance, it was pretty clear to see why Karanka restored the on-loan Newcastle man back into his starting line-up. Went toe-to-toe with the very impressive Joe Allen and was neat and tidy in possession.
Adlene Guedioura 6
Probably the Algerian’s worst performance of the campaign. It was a frustrating afternoon for the man who has been so consistent for the Reds during the 2018/19 campaign.
Matty Cash 6
Cash showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm but proved equally ineffective on both wings during a largely frustrating afternoon. The academy graduate did sting Butland’s palms in the second-half with a decent effort.
Joao Carvalho 7
Showed his worth with several neat passages of play. The £13 million summer recruit is starting to forge decent links with both Joe Lolley and Lewis Grabban. Was withdrawn late on after another decent showing.
Joe Lolley 7
His work rate and commitment towards making things happened very nearly paid dividends late on when he produced the save of the match from England stopper Butland.
Lewis Grabban 6
A rare off day in front of goal for Forest’s in-form talisman. He fired over when handed an opportunity to put Forest in the lead and could only force a save from Butland when put through one-on-one towards the end of the game.
