As reported in the Nottingham Post, it would appear that Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox is edging towards full fitness.
Fox hasn’t featured since the 1-1 draw with Leeds United having damaged ligaments in his foot during the Elland Road clash.
With the defender on the treatment table, Michael Dawson and Tobias Figueiredo have gone about their business in composed fashion, leaving Fox with a real fight on his hands to win his shirt back.
The 32-year-old has done remarkably well to win over the Forest faithful. He has become a sound central defender after some unconvincing form at left-back when he first arrived at the City Ground.
Earlier in the campaign, he was performing impeccably well at the heart of the defence but right now he faces a genuine fight to get back into the team such is the form of his team-mates.

Although Fox has looked assured in a position that he hasn’t played in throughout his career, he certainly doesn’t possess the same sort of stature that Dawson and Figueiredo do.
Against Millwall, in particular, Tom Elliott had an absolute field day against the relatively small Fox and that must play into Aitor Karanka’s thinking when it comes to choosing a first-choice back four.
Teams who play against Forest when Fox is in the team will rightly target him as a potential weak link, and although his form has been okay, he doesn’t possess the level of intimidation that Dawson and Figueiredo do.
Whilst Fox is undoubtedly a decent squad player to have around the City Ground this season, his days as a first-team regular could become a thing of the past now that Karanka has hit the jackpot with his current pairing.
