Nottingham Forest’s Joe Lolley is a man currently in the form of his life and his performances are starting to catch the eye.
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League suitors are emerging as potential bidders for the Forest winger; making the January transfer window a somewhat nauseating time for the Reds’ faithful.
Forest fans have been here before.
Michail Antonio and Oliver Burke are two departures in recent years which sit about as comfortable on the stomach of Forest supporters, as a substandard kebab following a night on the ale; both players sold, on the cheap, in the form of their lives against the will of their managers at the time.
Of course the Reds were in less stable hands away from the green bit back then but nonetheless a nervous month looks to be on the cards.
Lolley’s screamer at Villa Park in midweek was his sixth goal of the campaign; with his four assists taking that tally up to seven for the 2018/19 season.

After spending a substantial amount of cash during the summer, boss Aitor Karanka now has a squad that seems capable of challenging for a top six place at the very least.
Whether or not The Reds are successful in their bid for promotion is largely dependent on which players remain at the City Ground when the window slams shut.
With Forest flying in the Championship – largely down to Lolley – it will surely add value to the player who cost The Reds just £750,000 less than a year ago; although even contemplating a sale at this stage is unthinkable.
In the current era of inflated transfer fees, it is safe to presume that it would take an astronomical bid to even remotely tempt Forest into a sale of any sort.
If The Reds are serious about maintaining their promotion push, however, they must fend off any interest in January.
