With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Seat Pitch brings you a unique take on the customary advent calendar with a Nottingham Forest twist.

We have 25 doors to open, with familiar faces from the present and past waiting behind each one (sorry, no chocolate).

At the end of the year, we will then compile the ultimate Reds squad made up of those voted into each number. You can have your say by getting involved with our daily Twitter polls.

Let’s keep things rolling with door No. 2:

Clifton native Anderson was a Nottingham boy done good, with a home-grown talent going on to enjoy a history-making career with club and country.

Part of the legendary title-winning side of 1977/78 and a double European Cup champion, the rangy right-back was also the first black player to represent England at senior level.

Few could have predicted the impact that Lyttle would make at Forest when Frank Clark – who knows a thing or two about full-backs – moved to make the diminutive defender one of his first signings in the summer of 1993.

Two successful promotion campaigns would be taken in with the Reds, along with a third-place finish in the Premier League and memorable UEFA Cup run, before a man who was snapped up for just £375,000 departed for Watford in 1999.

Brian Clough famously told Laws upon his arrival in Nottingham: “I’ve never seen you play, son, I’m going on the recommendation of Ronnie Fenton. So if you’re crap, Ronnie signed you. If you’re good, I signed you.”

Forest need not have worried, with a hard-working and reliable performer enjoying six productive years at the City Ground as he made the No. 2 shirt his own.

Would you prefer to see somebody else fill the No. 2 spot – Eric Lichaj, Gary Charles, Mathieu Louis-Jean? Let us know your selection in the comment box below or reply to the Twitter poll – which can be found here.
