With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Seat Pitch brings you a unique take on the customary advent calendar with a Nottingham Forest twist.

We have 25 doors to open, with familiar faces from the present and past waiting behind each one (sorry, no chocolate).

At the end of the year, we will then compile the ultimate Reds squad made up of those voted into each number. You can have your say by getting involved with our daily Twitter polls.

Let’s keep things rolling with door No. 17:

“He’s he, he’s there, he’s every ****ing where” – Bonalair earned cult hero status over the course of a three-year spell with the Reds.

A versatile, hard-working performer, you knew what you were getting from a Frenchman who played the game with a smile on his face.

Promised so much more than he delivered, but that is often the case with enigmatic talents such as McGugan.

A home-grown academy product made well over 200 appearances for the club and will be best remembered for some spectacular strikes – most notably a stunning free-kick against Ipswich in October 2010.

Shaun Botterill/Allsport

Snapped up by Brian Clough for £1.5 million in 1991, the Northern Ireland international was a tricky winger with a useful eye for goal.

Took in over 100 outings for Forest, with a Wembley strike recorded in one of those as the Reds lifted the ZDS Cup with a 3-2 extra-time victory over Southampton in 1992.

Would you prefer to see somebody else fill the No. 17 spot – David McGoldrick, Ben Brereton? Let us know your selection in the comment box below or reply to the Twitter poll – which can be found here.
