Managerless Nottingham Forest produced a lacklustre performance as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Reading in the Championship

Nobody knew how the Reds would react to Aitor Karanka’s departure in this game.

It soon unraveled into the worst case scenario.

In this case, Simon Ireland and Michael Dawson realistically had insufficient time to prepare for the match.

However, the players ultimately produced their worst performance of the season, barely creating a chance.

Considering the Royals had gone 11 games without a win, the Reds should’ve been capable of winning this match, even without a manager.

Forest’s discipline a worry

One of the most concerning aspects of the game was how the second-half unfolded.

The first-half wasn’t great, but the game could’ve easily been turned around with the right approach.

In truth, this never looked likely.

Danny Fox’s dismissal midway through the second-half summed up Forest’s afternoon.

He should’ve known better than to get involved in a mass brawl whilst already on a yellow card.

This was compounded by Tendayi Darikwa’s poor lunging tackle which reduced the Reds to nine.

An own goal from Jack Robinson in the last few minutes put the lid on Forest’s misery.

Worst ever away day?
