The former Exeter City man has nine goals and five assists this season, meaning Forest will need to watch the 23-year-old.
The versatile attacker netted twice against Blackburn during last weekend’s Championship game and he is bang in form.
Forest are likely to play another game with a makeshift back four and Watkins will be hoping to take advantage of that.
