Nottingham Forest head to West Bromwich Albion tomorrow looking for back-to-back league wins for the first time since September.

Forest secured a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday but in the main, it has been an inconsistent season for the Reds.

Boss Martin O’Neill will be under no illusions that the Reds need to keep winning if they are to maintain their tilt at reaching the top six.

Goals from Lewis Grabban and Molla Wague were enough to see Forest home at the weekend, in a game where the Reds could have scored more goals.

The performance level was improved and saw the Forest faithful go home satisfied.

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to The Hawthorns, Seat Pitch looks at three things that Forest must do if they are to defeat the Baggies.

Stifle Gayle

The 28-year-old has scored 15 goals this season and is a proven Championship striker.

The ex-Newcastle United man is in scintillating form and he will need to be watched.

Forest’s back four did a great job of keeping Neal Maupay quiet on Saturday and they will face a similar sort of striker in Gayle.

Maintain organisation

The Forest performance on Saturday was a much more organised display.

Players knew their roles and stuck to the script throughout and that will be required again tomorrow night.

The Reds are work in progress under O’Neill but against Brentford, things seemed a lot more fluid.

It might take time but if the Reds are to return from the West Midlands with anything they will need to stay organised.

Shuffle the pack

It would be very tempting for O’Neill to stick with the side that secured the three points on Saturday.

He should refrain from doing so, however.

Ben Watson is 33 and will do well to play two games in four days, whilst a few others looked leggy at the weekend.

The Forest boss needs to keep a freshness to his team and changes should be deemed a necessity.
