Nottingham Forest weren’t in action this weekend, with the Reds taking on Derby County this evening.
The Reds host the Rams looking to defeat their fierce rivals for the first time since 2015.
With Forest not in Championship action, Seat Pitch cast an eye towards the members of the squad currently on temporary moves away from the City Ground.
Virgil Gomis – Notts County
Things aren’t looking great for the Magpies who lost 1-0 to Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.
Gomis was dropped to the bench by boss Neal Ardley for the trip to Birkenhead and was introduced for the last 12 minutes.
The 19-year-old has yet to score for Forest’s local rivals but there is evidence to suggest that he is improving with every outing.
Tyler Walker, Jorge Grant and Jordan Smith – Mansfield Town
The Forest trio helped get the Stags’ season back on track with all three playing their part in a 1-0 win over Forest Green Rovers.
It was a bittersweet afternoon for striker Walker.
His 21st goal of the season in all competitions proved to be the winner but he was dismissed in the last minute following foul and abusive language towards a match official.
Grant played the full 90 and was lively throughout, whilst Smith kept his third clean sheet for the Stags.
Gboly Ariyibi – Motherwell
The 24-year-old netted his first Scottish Premiership goal yesterday against giants Celtic.
It was a controversial strike, however, given that the Hoops were expecting to receive the ball back following a head injury to a Celtic player.
Nonetheless, the American is now off the mark and he will be hoping to have a serious impact during his latest move away from the City Ground.
