Nottingham Forest were bolstered yesterday with the news that defender Sam Byram is back training with the club.
The on-loan West Ham United man hasn’t played since injuring his knee during the 3-1 EFL Cup win over Newcastle United.
It represents a big boost for boss Martin O’Neill who will relish the chance to have Byram back with the group.
The 25-year-old had looked like becoming a decent player for the Reds prior to his setback.
A former Leeds United man, Byram’s quality is there for all to see in the Championship.
Forest will hope to stay in touch with the top-six by beating Hull City tomorrow.
If they can stay in contention and get Byram back for the last five or six games, the Reds will give themselves every chance.
The Reds have not won back-to-back games since September and must go on a run if they are to ensure the season doesn’t end in disappointment.
Naturally, Forest fans were delighted with the news that Byram is back in training and took to Twitter to express their glee.
Seat Pitch rounded up what fans were saying ahead of his pending return to first-team action…
Good news. Looked very good in the game he got injured in.

Sam Byram coming back into the team could honestly be the difference between our season fading away and us taking this play off push to the end of the season #NFFC
