Nottingham Forest legend Garry Birtles says that the club’s owner Evangelos Marinakis is yet to put a foot wrong at the City Ground.
Birtles told the Nottingham Post that he believes that supporters are buying into the new owner’s ideas.

Forest are just three points off the Championship play-off places, whilst season card sales have already eclipsed 6000 for 2019/20.
Birtles thinks the club is on the up.
He told the Nottingham Post: “The fans can sense that things are going in the right direction.
“The new owner has put his money where his mouth is and has backed the club. He’s not just said it, he’s actually gone out and done it.
“The fans will look at it that he’s not put a foot wrong.”

Birtles believes that fans are still confident that something positive can come of this campaign – with the supporters a huge indicator of that.
He continued: “The City Ground has been packed out this season, the atmosphere has been fantastic and travelling support has been brilliant as well.
“There is still hope that something can be achieved this season. If there wasn’t, things would be a bit flat, but there is still a lot to like about what’s going on at the football club.”
The Reds recently announced plans to redevelop the City Ground and the man who played 212 times for the club think it is geared towards the top flight.

Said Birtles: “The announcement of the redevelopment was a boost for everyone.
It lifts everyone when you hear about things like that being done. People look at it as preparation for the Premier League.”
Seat Pitch Verdict
Birtles certainly makes some extremely good points regarding Evangelos Marinakis.
The man who won two European Cups at the City Ground knows all about what supporters crave and he sees something special happening under this owner.

Season cards for 2019/20 are flying out and there is a real sense that the feel-good factor is back at Forest.
Marinakis won’t accept failure and he will do all within his power to ensure that the Reds dine at the top table of English football once more.
