Nottingham Forest have been bolstered by the news that Tobias Figueiredo is back in training.

The Portuguese defender has not played since suffering a dead leg back in December and his return is a timely one for boss Martin O’Neill.

The 25-year-old has seen his season decimated through injury, playing just 14 times for the Reds.

It has clearly had an impact on Forest.

Figueiredo formed a formidable partnership with Michael Dawson earlier in the season.

Their togetherness saw the Reds go seven games without defeat.

Both players were injured at similar stages and as a result, the Reds have been forced to try several defensive pairings.

With Alex Milosevic and Yohan Benalouane working wonderfully in tandem, Figueiredo might find it tricky to force his way into contention.

The no-nonsense defender is an asset, however, and O’Neill could call upon him before the season is out.

Fans are clearly delighted by this news and have taken to social media.

The Forest defender tweeted regarding his return to training earlier today and it was met with joy.
