Sam Byram handed Nottingham Forest boss Martin O’Neill a massive boost yesterday as he completed his first 90 minutes since injuring his knee.
The West Ham United player has featured for just 210 minutes since arriving at the City Ground on loan during the summer.
It was unsure whether or not he would return before the end of the campaign, but yesterday he took a significant step in his recovery.

The 25-year-old played the full 90 as Nottingham Forest’s Under-23 side ran out 1-0 winners over Sheffield Wednesday.
Byram was allowed to join Forest after falling down the pecking order at the London Stadium following the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini.
On paper, it looked a fantastic signing for Forest, but injury soon curtailed his progress.
He hasn’t played for the Reds since the 3-1 EFL Cup win over Newcastle way back in August.
Despite not playing much, the Reds faithful would relish the chance to keep Byram.

According to Spotrac, he earns £30k-a-week at the Hammers though and that could deter Forest from a permanent deal.
Not only that but it would appear that West Ham fans are keen to see Pellegrini hand the ex-Leeds man a chance.
In recent weeks the Hammers faithful have been wondering what Byram is up to, indicating that they aren’t ready to wash their hands of him just yet.
