Nottingham Forest midfielder Pele appears to have dropped a massive hint that he won’t be returning to the City Ground next season.
The man on-loan from Monaco played nine games for the Reds after joining the club in January.
He missed the last two games against QPR and Bolton with injury and an Instagram post appears to indicate that a return isn’t on the cards for next season.
The combative midfielder posted his message to the club’s supporters following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Bolton at the City Ground:
According to Get French Football News, Pele cost Monaco £4.2 million from Rio Ave last summer. He fell down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Thierry Henry as the club’s manager.
The Guinea international did a job for Martin O’Neill’s team. He perhaps wasn’t the most technically gifted midfielder, but he helped the team break up promising attacks.

It is perhaps little surprise that he won’t be back next season. Forest’s midfield department is well stocked and the club will probably be less reliant on loans next season.
Competition
O’Neill has Claudio Yacob, Ben Watson, Adlene Guedioura and Ryan Yates all contracted for next season, whilst Jack Colback could be tempted back to the club.

Whilst Pele did a decent job, the Forest boss will probably demand a bit more consistency from his midfielders next season.
The Reds already have a few players who are very similar to the Monaco man and any midfielder who does come in will need to provide more of a threat going forwards.
