Lincoln City winger Bruno Andrade is attracting interest from higher-league clubs, and Nottingham Forest should throw their name into the hat.
Martin O’Neill’s side were unable to make the Championship play-offs as they finished ninth in the table. Although this was a disappointment, the Reds must now focus on ensuring they forge a stronger push for promotion next season.
Of course, this will involve improving the current squad of players. The Reds released their retained list earlier this week, which highlighted just how big the current squad is. There are currently 32 players contracted for the 2019/20 campaign.
The priority over the next few weeks will be to move a number of those players on. But speculation has already begun about who the Reds want to bring in this summer.
One man who should be firmly on Forest’s radar is Lincoln City ace Bruno Andrade.
The 25-year-old has risen through the non-league ranks and enjoyed a fine season in League Two with the Imps.
Predominately utilised on the left wing, Andrade netted 11 goals and contributed seven assists last season. He played a key role in the Imps securing the League Two title.
Given his prowess in the final third, it seems likely that Danny Cowley will have to fend off some summer interest.
According to Lincolnshire Live, the winger is already attracting interest from Aston Villa and Portsmouth.
Having signed a two-year deal at Sincil Bank on his arrival from Boreham Wood last summer, he does still have a year left on his contract. The Imps will be hoping he stays for their upcoming campaign in League One.
There’s no doubt that Forest are in need of some more attacking options this summer. The Reds have been far too reliant on Lewis Grabban, Joe Lolley and João Carvalho.
Some help for that trio wouldn’t be a bad thing and Andrade would be a decent signing.
Of course, it’s a big jump to make from League Two to the Championship, but he is showing signs that he would be more than capable of making it.
