Nottingham Forest have flown out to Spain for their pre-season training camp ahead of the 2019/20 season.
The Reds begin their pursuit of promotion to the Premier League on August 3. They will face fellow promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion at the City Ground in the late kick-off.
It certainly isn’t an easy start for new boss Sabri Lamouchi who took over following Martin O’Neill‘s dismissal last week. The game against the Baggies comes before an even trickier looking trip to Leeds United the following week.
The Frenchman will be hoping this week’s training camp will provide ideal preparation for his squad. It will give him the opportunity to cast his eye over the players he has at his disposal.
Following the 2-1 win over Alfreton Town at the weekend, Joe Lolley shared his excitement for the trip on social media:
Good first 45 in the bank, felt like 90 in that 🌞 now for a big week in 🇪🇸

The Reds will be playing at least one friendly match whilst they are out in Alicante. The first comes this evening against Scottish Championship side Dundee.
However, the continuation of the squad’s pre-season programme isn’t the only reason why many expect this to be a ‘big week’.
Lamouchi will be looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the big kick-off next month. Only Sammy Ameobi has joined the Reds so far this summer, coming just days before O’Neill lost his job.
It would be a surprise if there wasn’t at least one more signing confirmed at the City Ground over the course of the next week.
According to the Nottingham Post, the Reds still expect to complete the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric on a season-long loan. If the Reds want him to play any part in this week’s training camp then they’ll need to finalise the deal quickly.
In addition to this, there have also been rumours surrounding Abdoulaye Diallo and former loanee Jack Colback. It remains to be seen whether these rumours develop into substantial interest.
In the meantime, Lamouchi will be excited to get down to work with the talent he already has at his disposal this week.
