Sheffield United are ready to test Nottingham Forest’s resolve over Ben Osborn by upping their bid.
According to The Mirror (Print Edition, 23/07; page 50), the Blades are ‘poised’ to make an offer of £5 million for the academy graduate.
Osborn has played over 200 games for the Reds but is out of contract next summer.
The Premier League newcomers were thwarted in their efforts following a £3 million bid which was rejected by Forest.

Boss Sabri Lamouchi has previously stated his desire to keep Osborn at the City Ground but he could be powerless.
The lure of Premier League football could prove attractive for the versatile performer and it remains to be seen what stance the club will take on this fresh bid.
A 24-year-old, Osborn made his Forest debut in 2014 and has played 230 times for the Reds.
The Seat Pitch Summary
One way or another Forest need to get this situation resolved.
It isn’t doing anyone any favours to have a potential transfer hanging over Ben Osborn’s head.
If the Reds really don’t want to see then it would be wise to get him tied to a new contract and nip the links in the bud.

Failing that Forest should cash in.
To not receive a penny for such a loyal servant would represent a real kick in the teeth for the club’s academy, should he walk away in a year’s time.
Forest need a quick resolution on the matter, especially if the club wishes to seek a replacement prior to the transfer window closing.
