How Nottingham Forest should line-up against Real Sociedad

Nottingham Forest will take on Real Sociedad at the City Ground tomorrow night in the final first-team friendly.

The Reds defeated Premier League outfit Crystal Palace last week in what proved to be a decent run-out for Sabri Lamouchi’s men.

Given that the pre-season game against Lincoln City on Monday will now be a ‘Nottingham Forest XI’, this is the last chance for the Reds boss to run the rule over his team.

Here at Seat Pitch, we looked at how the French boss might want to start on Friday evening.

Goalkeeper and back four

Aro Muric looks like being the club’s number one goalkeeper this season. He has arrived with lots of promise from Manchester City and Pep Guardiola will be hoping he gets plenty of minutes.

The defence isn’t short of options for a change. At right-back, Tendayi Darikwa picks himself, given that he is the only natural option in that position.

Yuri Ribeiro and Jack Robinson will battle it out for the left-back berth. Lamouchi may choose to give the Portuguese defender more minutes during this game.

At central defence, Alexander Milosevic seems a certainty to start.

Alongside him, it seems as though Tobias Figueiredo will get the nod. If that is the case the pair should get another run-out together ahead of the big kick-off.

Joe Worrall is still somewhat raw, whilst Michael Dawson may have to wait patiently for his chance this season.

In the middle

Having started most of Forest’s pre-season games, Ben Watson seems a safe bet to start in the first match of the season.

That could mean the veteran sits out of this one.

In his absence, Alfa Semedo, a summer recruit from Benfica, and Claudio Yacob should be the men handed the chance to impress.

Yacob is one of the most underrated members of the squad and fans would dearly like him to start the first match of the campaign.

In attack

Spearheading the front line should be Lewis Grabban. He hasn’t scored yet during pre-season and could do with a goal going into the campaign.

Behind him, Tiago Silva looked impressive against Palace and he could be just the man to fill in for the injured Joao Carvalho.

The Portuguese performer showed some neat touches last week and Forest fans will hope to see more from him in the coming months.

On the flanks, Joe Lolley picks himself and will probably get the chance to shine once again.

On the other side, Albert Adomah will probably start the first game but against Real Sociedad, academy graduate Arvin Appiah might just get the chance to play his way into Lamouchi’s team.

Here is how Lamouchi’s team might look:
