Nottingham Forest today said goodbye to Ben Osborn who joined Premier League outfit Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.

It ends a long-standing association with the club for the utility man who has been with the Reds since he was a child.

Having risen through the youth ranks he was handed his debut at Ipswich Town in 2014 and went onto make 230 appearances for Forest.

He was crowned Player of the Season during the 2017/18 campaign for his efforts and will leave as one of the standout performers to ever emerge from the academy.

Following his departure, Forest players of present and past have been tweeting their messages of support to Osborn.

Joe Lolley, Tendayi Darikwa and Joe Worrall from the current squad all paid tribute to the departing 24-year-old:

Former players Eoin Jess, Guy Moussi, Julian Bennett, Dexter Blackstock and Jamie Paterson also wished Osborn their best wishes on his transfer to Bramall Lane.

Moussi, in particular, posted a tweet that will delight Forest fans. It featured a video of arguably Osborn’s finest moment in a Forest shirt, when he fired home a stoppage-time winner against Derby County:
