Nottingham Forest will consider a loan move for Burnley defender Ben Gibson if they fail to land Scott McKenna, according to the Daily Record.
The uncompromising central defender joined the Clarets for £15 million last summer but only played one Premier League game.
That could see him leave on loan during the current transfer window.

Forest also hold a torch for McKenna. The Daily Record reported that a £3 million bid was rejected by Aberdeen, with the Reds considering a fresh swoop.
Biggest STAR Your Club Are Trying To SIGN This Month
Despite Gibson’s struggles last season he is a proven Championship performer and would complement Forest’s squad.
It does seem a little surprising that boss Sabri Lamouchi is targeting a central defender. The Reds currently have a plethora of options in that area and a new arrival will surely spell departures for some.
It would appear that if you offered Forest fans the choice between McKenna and Gibson, the vast majority would plump for the Burnley man.

The 26-year-old has 148 Championship appearances to his name so it is little surprise the supporters fancy him as a good signing.
Many fans took to Twitter following the link to his signature.
Here is a selection of tweets from Forest fans eager to see the Reds snap up the former England Under-21 international:
