Nottingham Forest have received a potentially huge injury boost after news about João Carvalho’s recovery spread on social media.
It’s good news for Nottingham Forest fans as midfielder João Carvalho has stepped up his recovery from injury. Carvalho missed a large chunk of pre-season after picking up an ankle injury against Alfreton Town in June.
As pictured by the club’s official social media accounts, the midfielder returned to the training field for the first time since picking up the injury earlier today.

Sabri Lamouchi was unwilling to put a timeframe on the player’s recovery following the initial news. This meant that there was some uncertainty among supporters about how severe the injury was.
However, it now seems that the 22-year-old is close to making a return. He has been training with the rest of the squad ahead of this weekend’s game against Leeds United.
The Reds will be hoping that he is back in the starting line-up as soon as possible. He will be a key part of Sabri Lamouchi’s plans for this season. The 22-year-old could play a huge role if the Reds are to challenge for a place in the Premier League.
Carvalho missed last weekend’s opening game against West Bromwich Albion. The Reds were beaten 2-1 by the Baggies at the City Ground. There’s no doubt that the £13 million man’s creative spark was missed.
The Reds struggled to create many chances against Slaven Bilić’s side. Lewis Grabban was starved of service despite having both Joe Lolley and Albert Adomah supporting him on either flank.
Forest fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to this injury boost.
