Nottingham Forest completed the signing of John Bostock last night with the midfielder signing on loan from Toulouse in France.

The deal was confirmed a little while after the transfer window slammed shut and was confirmed on the official website.

Bostock adds competition to the midfield ranks and could be in contention for tomorrow’s trip to Leeds.

The 27-year-old began his career with Crystal Palace and as one of the country’s most talented teenagers, he earned a move to Tottenham.

After loan spells with Brentford, Hull, Swindon and Sheffield Wednesday he embarked on several years abroad.

He has played for clubs in Belgium, France and Turkey but now returns to English football with the Reds.

Last season Bostock featured in 20 games for Toulouse and joins Forest looking to prove he can still cut it in England.

The announcement came following the 5pm transfer deadline as the Reds waited for international clearance.

Following the news that Bostock had put pen-to-paper, the Reds supporters took to Twitter to welcome him to the club.

Despite his background in English football, some Forest fans see him as an unknown quantity.
