Gboly Ariyibi has departed Nottingham Forest to join Panaitolikos for an undisclosed fee, the club’s official website has confirmed.
The Reds have published a short statement which reads: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that winger Gboly Ariyibi has left the club to join Greek side Panaitolikos for an undisclosed fee.”
It’s fair to say that it isn’t surprising to see the 24-year-old winger depart the City Ground.

Having arrived from Chesterfield for £500,000 over two years ago, he’ll be bitterly disappointed with how things have gone. He failed to make a single first team appearance for the Reds.
Most recently, the American spent last season on loan in Scotland with Motherwell.
In this case, it was the third loan move he had made during his time with the Reds. He failed to make a positive impact at any of his loan clubs.
If he had managed to make an impression elsewhere, he would’ve perhaps been given an opportunity with the Reds.

Flop
It isn’t too often that a signing doesn’t make a single appearance for their new club.
Sabri Lamouchi has strengthened his wide options considerably this summer. Sammy Ameobi and Albert Adomah have both already made a positive impact in the first team.
Ariyibi will now be hoping that a permanent move to the Greek Super League can reignite his career.

Panetolikos finished ninth in the Greek Super League last season. They’ll be hoping the Deadline Day acquisition of Ariyibi can help them improve on that this time round under the management of Luís Castro.
