Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is looking forward to working with his squad on the training pitch over the next two weeks.

The Reds have enjoyed a promising start to the season, which sees them sat just one point outside the play-offs and in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Having to play eight games in four weeks has taken its toll on the squad though.

Lamouchi now has a two-week spell to work with his side on the training field for the first time this season. Having only been appointed at the end of June, this is something he hasn’t had much time to do yet.

The huge positive for the Frenchman is that only two players are away on international duty. Arijanet Muric is away with Kosovo and Brennan Johnson is joining up with the Welsh Under-21 squad.

Opportunity

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, Lamouchi has outlined his plans, he said: “We have a lot of work to do, for sure.

“We have a lot of sessions so we will work on many things.

“The team have played eight games in one month. We have to be patient and keep calm, and keep working. We need to work in these two weeks.”

It’s fair to say that the Reds have already shown signs of improvement this season. The recent performances in the wins against Fulham and Derby County showed what they are capable of.

In this case, Forest’s upcoming fixtures are somewhat easier than what they faced in August.

However, they do return with a trip to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea City. The Swans currently sit top of the league and will be very difficult opponents next weekend.

Lamouchi his squad will be able to take the opportunity that this international break provides and return a much stronger side.
