Nottingham Forest have made a decent start to their 2019/20 Championship campaign under new boss Sabri Lamouchi.

The Reds are unbeaten since the opening day of the campaign and also have a Carabao Cup third round match with Arsenal to look forward to.

It has also been a good start for the club’s under-23 team. Their 3-1 win at Ipswich Town last night keeping up some impressive form for Jimmy Gilligan’s team.

A familiar name started the game for Forest. Zach Clough has badly lost his way and after failing to earn a move away from the club, he will need to perform for the under-23 team in order to get something sorted in January.

Clough signed for the Reds in 2017 for £2.5 million from Bolton Wanderers (BBC Sport). He scored four goals in 31 appearances for Forest and looked like he could be a good signing when he first arrived.

Failed loan spells at Rochdale and back at Bolton have seen his career fall into disarray and something has clearly gone awry for Clough.

The 24-year-old is still at a decent age and it is perhaps baffling to some supporters that he has dropped so far down the pecking order.

Following last night’s goalscoring performance against the Ipswich under-23s, supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss Clough.

Here is a selection of Tweets regarding the youngster and his performance last night:
