Nottingham Forest right-back Tendayi Darikwa has shared an update on his recovery from his long-term injury on social media.
It’ll be a good sight for Nottingham Forest fans as defender Tendayi Darikwa shared a video of himself working hard on the exercise bike in the gym. It certainly seems that the 27-year-old is still in good spirits.
The Reds will be hoping that the defender is back sooner than expected. He was a key part of Sabri Lamouchi’s plans for this season. The right-back could still make a significant contribution if the Reds are to challenge for a place in the Premier League.
Darikwa did feature lightly for the Reds during pre-season under Lamouchi. This came after he featured for Zimbabwe in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt this summer.

The former Burnley defender suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury in training ahead of the start of the Championship season. As a result, the 27-year-old is expected to miss the majority of the campaign.
Blow
The defender became a popular figure at the City Ground last season. He was much-improved under the management of Aitor Karanka and had cemented himself as the club’s first choice right-back. He made 28 appearances in the Championship for the Reds.
Lamouchi quickly bolstered his defensive options by signing Carl Jenkinson after Darikwa was ruled out for a number of months. However, the former Arsenal defender has since picked up an injury himself.

This means that Matty Cash is now the club’s first choice right-back, as he was at the beginning of the season. Lamouchi is likely to utilise the academy graduate in that position again tonight when the Reds face the Gunners in the Carabao Cup.
