Nottingham Forest were thumped 5-0 by Premier League outfit Arsenal at Emirates Stadium with four goals coming in the last 19 minutes of the contest.
It proved to be a steep learning curve for Sabri Lamouchi’s side, with several changes made from the team which beat Barnsley on Saturday.

Ben Watson, Michael Dawson, Brice Samba, Joe Worrall and Alfa Semedo were all given the night off; whilst Samba Sow and Lewis Grabban were unused substitutes.
A brace from Gabriel Martinelli and goals from Rob Holding, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson put Forest to the sword and hit Forest with a reality check.
Following the game we analysed the performance and rated the players out of 10:
Aro Muric – 5
A surprise inclusion in Lamouchi’s team. Couldn’t do a lot about four of the goal but was perhaps at fault for one.

Matty Cash – 5
But for the last five minutes when he chose to maraude forward, it was a bad night at the office for Cash. Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney down the left-hand side caused him all sorts of problems.
Tobias Figueiredo – 5
Not one of the Portuguese defender’s best performances. Switched off for the first goal allowing Martinelli to pounce.
Chema Rodriguez – 5
Not a bad showing from the uncompromising defender. Won’t have done enough to start on Friday, however.

Jack Robinson – 5
Captain for the evening but doesn’t possess the same level of leadership as Dawson, Watson or Worrall would do.
Tiago Silva – 4
A bad night at the office for the little Portuguese player. He was up against a £350,000-a-week (Spotrac) player in Mesut Ozil, however, so some slack can be cut. He just never really got into the game.
Brennan Johnson – 5
On a week where he signed a new long-term deal at the City Ground, it was great to see Johnson get the experience of playing at Emirates Stadium. Seems unlikely that he will fancy a reunion with Lucas Torreira any time soon, however.

Joao Carvalho – 6
Showed some neat touches in the first half but missed having a Samba Sow or Alfa Semedo alongside him to do the ugly side of things.
Joe Lolley – 6
Huffed and puffed without any real success in terms of goalscoring opportunities. He was neat and tidy in possession.
Yuri Ribeiro – 7
Comfortably Forest’s best player on the night. Flung himself into challenges and looked comfortable in a more advanced position on the left flank.

Albert Adomah – 6
Was starved of any real service as he featured as a makeshift striker. Had a couple of chances to score but ultimately fluffed his lines.
Substitutes
Sammy Ameobi (Carvalho, 59′) – 5
A decent outlet but didn’t offer a great deal.
Alex Mighten (Ribeiro, 78) – 6
A debut for the youngster and an experience he’ll probably never forget.
Jordan Gabriel (Lolley, 81) – 6
Not enough time on the pitch to really make an impact but like Mighten, a good opportunity nonetheless.
