Nottingham Forest temporarily went top of the Championship following a 3-2 win against struggling Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium for the first time in five years.

Lee Gregory had given the Potters the lead within the opening 10 minutes. However, goals from Joe Lolley, Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban turned the game on it’s head.

James McClean did pull one back for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough to deny the Reds all three points.

Following yesterday’s results, Sabri Lamouchi’s side have been knocked down to third in the league. However, league leaders West Bromwich Albion are just one point above the Reds.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

One of the only negative’s from the victory was an injury to Michael Dawson. The 35-year-old has been a rock for the Reds this season, but looks set to miss the next two games at least.

The former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back pulled up with an injury in the first half. He was taken off around 10 minutes before half-time and was replaced by Chema Rodríguez.

When asked about Dawson’s injury after the game, Lamouchi admitted that he may miss the next two games.

He told BBC Radio Nottingham: “He has a problem in his calf. We will check him maybe on Monday now.

“I’m not a doctor but I think for Blackburn he won’t be fit and Brentford as well. I’m not sure.”

The Reds remain unbeaten in the Championship since their opening day defeat against West Bromwich Albion at the City Ground.

They’ll be hoping they can continue that run when they travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday. They then face Brentford at the City Ground next weekend in their final game before the international break.
