Nottingham Forest made it 10 games unbeaten with a 1-0 win over Brentford at the City Ground yesterday. Ben Watson scored the only goal of a cagey contest in the 56th minute.
The win lifted Forest into second place going into another international break, whilst it also ensured that the Reds have not lost since the opening day of the campaign.
Boss Sabri Lamouchi was delighted with his charges following the game, with the overall performance arguably the best all season.
Forest have collected some great wins in the last couple of months but a complete performance has perhaps been found wanting. There was no chance of that in yesterday’s game, with Forest digging deep to keep the Bees at bay.
One of the standout performers for the Reds during the latest victory was right-back Matty Cash. The Forest youngster has been deployed as a makeshift in the position and is getting better with each passing game.
At 22, Cash has come of age this season and with Ben Osborn now departed, he is quickly becoming Forest’s new versatile workhorse capable of putting a shift in every single week.
