Nottingham Forest defeated Brentford 1-0 at the City Ground on Saturday to head into the international break sitting pretty in an automatic promotion place in the Championship.

The Reds were comfortable against the Bees and Ben Watson’s second goal of the season ensured another three points for Sabri Lamouchi’s hardworking outfit.

The performance was perhaps the most pleasing aspect of Saturday’s game. Results haven’t been a problem for the Reds this season but putting in a 90-minute showing has proved problematic.

Lamouchi has been striving to see his side pick up in terms of their performance levels and he would have been absolutely delighted with how comfortable Forest looked against a decent Brentford team.

One man who has been instrumental to the team’s stunning start to the campaign is Joe Worrall. The defender has returned from a season-long loan at Rangers and waltzed straight into the back four.

The highly-rated 22-year-old has played every league game, helping Forest to four clean sheets in the Championship.

Following another quality result for the Reds, Worrall took to Twitter to let supporters know just how happy he is to be playing frequently for his boyhood team:

Worrall is quickly turning into Mr Nottingham Forest with his dedicated and combative displays. He has also captained the team on two occasions this season in the Carabao Cup, with many supporters of the belief that he could hold down that position permanently in the future.

After featuring regularly for Rangers last season, the defender has clearly learnt from his experience at Ibrox. He now seems more composed and polished, with Forest fans now expecting him to kick-on and establish himself as a mainstay in the team for years to come.
