Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for September.

The Reds have raced out of the blocks in the second tier and currently occupy second place in the division, level on points with West Brom at the top.

Lamouchi’s nomination comes as no surprise. Forest kicked off the month with a win at Swansea City who were still unbeaten at that stage, before beating Barnsley at home.

The Reds then went top of the division for a brief time thanks to a victory over Stoke City in front of the Sky television cameras.

It highlights the job which Lamouchi is doing at the City Ground, receiving such recognition after just two months of his first season in the Championship.

Typically the manager of the month award comes with a curse. Clubs in recent seasons have seen a defeat immediately follow their manager claiming the accolade, although that isn’t always the case.

Some fans have reacted to the news of Lamouchi being selected on Twitter and although some are delighted for him to receive recognition, others would prefer another manager to pick up the award on Friday.
