Sabri Lamouchi saw his Nottingham Forest side continue their recent unbeaten run heading into the international break.

The Frenchman will be surprised by just how good a start his side have made to the season. The most promising aspect is that you feel the Reds can improve even further yet.

There’s no doubt that the Reds have caught many people by surprise so far this season. They’ll be slightly disappointed that they aren’t in an even better position. They are currently sat behind league leaders West Bromwich Albion on goal difference alone.

The Reds are now set to turn their attention back to the Championship this weekend. Having only lost one game so far, they will be heading to Wigan Athletic on Sunday in confident mood.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post about his side’s start to the season, Lamouchi has revealed the one thing which has pleased him the most. He said: “The most important thing for me is the spirit of the team.

“We are in the right way. But the season is so long. We have had a lot of chats and time with all the players. This is my job.

“But it is not only about me, it is about my staff, about everyone working for Forest and especially the players – because who decides what can happen on the pitch? The players.”

Forest are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run which has seen them rise towards the top of the division. They have shown a lot of qualities of a side capable of challenging for promotion to the Premier League.

It’s fair to say that the team spirit appears to be the best it has been in years.

This comes as a surprise given how bad it seemed to be under the management of Martin O’Neill towards the end of last season. Lamouchi seems to have turned a lot of things around in such a short period of time.

There’s no doubt that this will become even more important when the Reds do hit a poor run of form.

There will be a time when the players have to dig deep to get through a tough run.

For the time-being though, Lamouchi will be hoping his side can continue their recent unbeaten run as long as possible.
