Sabri Lamouchi’s side are currently in the middle of a two-week international break. Mighten was one of four Nottingham Forest players to be named in their national squads for this round of international fixtures.

Similarly to Brennan Johnson, Mighten’s reputation seems to be building with every passing week. He certainly seems to be another player with a bright future.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if some Premier League teams are sniffing around Forest’s latest crop of youngsters to come through the Nigel Doughty Academy.

Future

It’s therefore smart business from the Reds to try and get Mighten snapped up on a new contract.

He only signed a two-year scholarship deal last year, so it’s understandable that the Reds want to have a bit more control over his future by offering him a professional contract.

Mighten was able to make his first-team debut for Forest before the international break. Lamouchi introduced the youngster from the bench for the final 12 minutes of his side’s 5-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

Even in the short amount of time he was on the pitch, he was able to show glimpses of his potential.

He’ll be hoping he can push for a few more first-team appearances between now and the end of the season.
