Nottingham Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa was full of praise for Sabri Lamouchi after the start the Reds have made to the season.
It’s certainly easy to love the way that the Reds are performing this season under the new management of the Frenchman.
The Reds have a tough task ahead of them: Evangelos Marinakis wants them to be competing for promotion to the Premier League, and his expectation is only likely to have increased after the start they have made.
There’s no doubt that they have certainly made a very promising start. They still haven’t lost since the opening day of the season against West Bromwich Albion. They are currently enjoying a 10-match unbeaten run.
Not only have results on the pitch improved considerably, injured right-back Tendayi Darikwa feels that the squad is really buying into the manager’s way of doing things.
“He’s been a breath of fresh fair. He’s new to the country and new to the league, but with the performances we’ve shown already this season, and where we are in the league, he’s obviously doing something right,” Darikwa told the Nottingham Post.
“All the players have bought into the way he wants to do things on the training pitch and on matchdays.
‘Breath of fresh air’
“Hopefully he can be the one to take us back to the Premier League.”
It’s easy to underestimate the importance of the spirit of the players when you’re viewing things as an outside but Darikwa’s words offer even more excitement to the Forest project.
A happy atmosphere for the players will always spill over onto the pitch and for Lamouchi to already have pulled that off so early in his tenure is nothing short of exceptional.
The Reds continue their promotion push this weekend when they travel to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic.
If it wasn’t clear already, the Reds may have some very exciting times ahead.
